How it works…..
The SoftBASE MasterApp is a ready made, native APEX application, which you copy and add your functionality to. It does exclude any usage of APEX components, plugins or other APEX Frameworks, you might find useful.
With APEX, Oracle has provided a powerful RAD (Rapid Application Development) tool, which enables developers to deliver amazing applications to the web, for their users within a very short time. However, often these applications become, either standalone with a separate security and navigation model, or it becomes increasingly complicated to build applications together into a common company/enterprise structure. Menu navigation is often, either hardcoded or a part of a fixed button based workflow structure, that is very hard to maintain or change, as the number of applications and pages increases. This is why APEX often is regarded only suitable for smaller application development.
The SoftBASE MasterApp solves this and adds modularity to APEX, and separates the administration of authentication, authorization and navigation from the application. This means, when you plan your app, you can focus on functionality, and to structure your applications into functional units, much like an ADF programmer or a forms programmer is used to do.
Afterwards, or simultaneously with your App development, you define the navigation within the App and between Apps in the SoftBASE MasterApp administration module. The navigation, which is defined on a modular level, provides seamless linking of APEX applications and presents them to the user seamlessly as if they were one application.
The SoftBASE MasterApp fits collaboration and both complex and simple application development and there is of course full integration to Google G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
